Ma:nyo

ma:nyo began life as Manyo Factory, incorporated in Korea on 2 March 2012. 'Manyo' means 'witch' in Korean, and the Korean name, which translates to 'witch factory', reflects the idea of a workshop crafting effective potions from carefully selected ingredients.

In 2013 the brand launched its Pure Cleansing Oil, which became its signature product. The lightweight oil is designed to dissolve makeup, sunscreen and excess sebum, then emulsify and rinse away cleanly, helping skin feel fresh and smooth. It helped make oil cleansing a mainstream first step for many shoppers. The cleanser later reached Costco shelves in the US in 2024.

In late 2018 the brand refreshed its identity and shortened its global name to ma:nyo, while keeping its Korean name. Alongside cleansing, it is known for its Bifida Biome range, built around fermented ingredients such as bifida ferment lysate to help skin look hydrated, smooth and radiant.

For shoppers, ma:nyo is the easiest way into double cleansing. Apply the cleansing oil to dry skin with dry hands, massage gently for a minute to loosen makeup and sunscreen, add a little water to emulsify, then rinse and follow with a gentle foam. Finish with the Bifida toner and ampoule, and try the mini size if you're new to oil cleansing.
