Dr. G

Dr.G's story starts in 1998, when dermatologist Dr. Ahn Gun-young founded Gowoonsesang Dermatology Clinic in Seoul. Drawing on what he saw in clinic, he set up Gowoonsesang Cosmetics in 2000 to create skincare that patients could use at home, and the Dr.G derma-cosmetic brand launched in 2003.

The brand's philosophy is to bring a dermatologist's perspective to everyday skincare: formulas focused on skin comfort, gentle effectiveness and real skin concerns such as sensitivity, oiliness and dullness. Over two decades it has grown into one of Korea's best-known derma brands and expanded across Asia.

Its signature R.E.D Blemish line, including the R.E.D Blemish Clear Soothing Cream, is a lightweight gel-cream designed to calm and hydrate oily, sensitive skin. Newer launches include ampoules such as the Niacin Onion All Clear Ampoule and the Vividraw Cherry Collagen Firming Capsule Ampoule. In December 2024 L'Oréal Groupe agreed to acquire Gowoonsesang Cosmetics, including Dr.G, from Swiss retailer Migros.

For shoppers, Dr.G is a simple, gentle option for skin that feels hot, oily or reactive. Use the R.E.D cream morning and night as your moisturiser, add an ampoule underneath for a targeted boost, and wear sunscreen each day. Its lightweight textures layer well and suit warm, humid weather.
