About Gatsby

GATSBY was created by Mandom Corporation, a Japanese grooming company, and launched in Japan in 1978. It became one of Asia's best-known men's grooming brands, covering hair styling, face care and body care.

On 23 August 2006 Mandom launched the Moving Rubber hair wax series nationwide in Japan as the first step in a full renewal of the GATSBY brand. Moving Rubber was designed for flexible styling that you can rework through the day, and it quickly became the brand's signature.

The range now includes multiple Moving Rubber waxes, each with a different hold and finish, along with styling sprays and greases. Spiky Edge, Grunge Mat and other variants let you choose between texture, matte and shine.

For shoppers, start with a small amount of wax, warm it between your palms, and work it through dry hair from the roots, then shape the ends. Use a spray to lock in hold, or grease for a sleek, tight look. Wash out with shampoo at night, and choose a lower-hold wax if you're new to styling. Different Moving Rubber variants suit different hair types, so thicker hair often prefers stronger hold, while fine hair suits lighter waxes. Wash wax out thoroughly each night.
