Estée Lauder was founded in New York City in 1946 by Estée Lauder and her husband Joseph. Estée was known for her belief in the power of touch and personal service, often applying products to customers herself, and the company grew from a handful of skincare products into a global beauty group.
In 1982 the brand launched Night Repair, described as the first night-time serum. It introduced the idea that skin could be cared for overnight, while you sleep. In 1991 it was reformulated and renamed Advanced Night Repair, and over more than 40 years it has been updated several times while keeping its signature brown bottle.
Today Advanced Night Repair includes the original serum along with eye care, such as the Eye Supercharged gel-cream, designed to hydrate and smooth the look of the delicate eye area.
