About Abib

Abib is a South Korean skincare brand created by Fourcompany, a Seoul company founded in January 2016 by five co-founders with expertise in video, design, chemistry and accounting. The Abib trademark was registered in October 2016, and the founders' shared goal was to make products that are faithful to their function. The company is led by CEO Kim Min-woo.

The name Abib means 'the first month', reflecting the brand's aim of returning skin to its natural, flawless-looking starting point. Abib's research slogan is 'The only way to perfection is endless experiments', and its design lab follows a minimalist ethos of removing anything unnecessary, which explains its pared-back, muted packaging.

The brand's first breakthrough was its sticker-like Gummy sheet masks, which caught the attention of Olive Young in 2017. Ingredients expanded from milk to soothing heartleaf (eoseongcho) and madecassoside, and the heartleaf spot pads became another hit. Abib then moved into essences, cleansers and sun care, with products such as the Quick Sunstick Protection Bar and the Jericho Rose collagen eye patches, and has since grown overseas through Japan, Amazon in the US and Costco.

For shoppers, Abib is ideal for a calm, simple routine. Start with the Heartleaf Foam, add a Jericho Rose eye patch when skin needs a lift, and keep a sunstick in your bag for top-ups.
