About CeraVe

CeraVe was founded in 2005 with a clear mission: create accessible, effective skincare developed with dermatologists. From the start, every formula has centred on three essential ceramides, ceramides 1, 3 and 6-II, which are naturally found in the skin's outer layer and help keep the barrier working well.

To deliver those ingredients over time, CeraVe uses its MVE Technology, a multi-layered delivery system designed to release moisturising ingredients gradually for hydration that lasts through the day. Many products also include hyaluronic acid and niacinamide, and the range is largely fragrance-free.

CeraVe was originally developed in the United States and became part of L'Oréal in 2017, when L'Oréal acquired it from Valeant, and it now sits in L'Oréal's Dermatological Beauty division. Its classic cleansers and moisturisers have become staples worldwide, with newer lines covering smoothing, blemish control, sun care and peptides.
