About Cinema Secrets
Cinema Secrets was founded in 1985 by Maurice Stein, a Hollywood makeup artist who had worked in film and television. After stepping back from set work, he opened a store in Burbank to supply professional makeup products for artists, and it became a go-to spot for actors, models and makeup artists.
The company created products to solve real problems artists faced on set. Its Original Makeup Brush Cleaner was developed so artists could quickly clean brushes between clients without rinsing, and it became an industry staple. The brand celebrated 40 years in 2025.
Today Cinema Secrets makes brush cleaners in different sizes, along with setting sprays such as the Super Sealer Mattifying Spray, which helps makeup last through long days under lights.
For shoppers, pour a little brush cleaner into a shallow dish, swirl the brush tip, then wipe on a paper towel until clean. Brushes dry quickly and are ready to use again.
