Brand story

About Dr. Jart+

Dr.Jart+ was launched in Seoul in 2005 by Have & Be Co., a company founded a year earlier by Lee Jin-wook, an architecture graduate. He worked with dermatologist Dr. Jung Sung-jae to create skincare that combined dermatological thinking with bold, design-led packaging. The name is often explained as 'Doctor joins art'.

One of the brand's early successes was its BB cream, which blended skincare and light coverage at a time when the idea was still new outside Korea. That combination of practical skin science and playful design helped Dr.Jart+ stand out in Korea and later in Sephora stores around the world.

Over time, its signature lines have become Cicapair, which uses centella asiatica (tiger grass) and green-tinted colour correction to help neutralise the look of redness, and Ceramidin, a ceramide-rich range for dry, tight-feeling skin. The Cryo Rubber masks, with a cooling two-step rubber mask, and the Dermask range add fun, results-focused masking. The Estée Lauder Companies took a minority stake in 2015 and completed its acquisition of Have & Be in December 2019.

For shoppers, Dr.Jart+ is a dependable choice for skin that needs comfort. Use Ceramidin as your moisturiser in cooler months or when skin feels dry, apply Cicapair as a final step when you want to tone down the look of redness, and save a Cryo Rubber mask for a quick refresh before events.
